Vivek Gursahaney
Associate Director Strategic Solutions
Navigant

In this session, attendees will learn about the implications that accountable care (“Curve 2”) strategies have on health system marketing & planning efforts. While core concepts related to improving patient capture and retention remain as critical as ever, they do so for entirely different reasons. We will discuss how leaders may need to alter their tactics & approach in response, and also identify those historical marketing & planning concepts that face significant disruption from Curve 2.

Storytelling: Plot Your Way to More Powerful Content (10:45)
Reba Thompson

WriterGirl

Once upon a time… before the printing press and the Internet, stories were how humans communicated the secrets of the universe to one another. Our minds are hard-wired and hungry for stories. Stories ignite our emotions and stick with us — long after the facts have faded away. Learn how you can use storytelling in your content marketing to increase engagement and response in your target audience. Analogies, anecdotes, case studies, human-sounding physician bios and honest patient stories can all bring your brand to life and have an important place in our hurry-up, mobile-first, message-overkill world.  Join Reba Thompson from WriterGirl as she tells the tale of how your communications can come alive with the power of storytelling.

Bridging Worlds: The Future Role of the Healthcare Strategist ( 1:30)
Holly Sullivan
SVP
Hammes Company

Everyone knows that the healthcare landscape is shifting rapidly—that the field is in the midst of a radical transformation and the rate of change is accelerating. Healthcare strategists, and their senior leaders, are tasked with anticipating the implications of ongoing changes and then applying their findings to their markets.

Holly, a Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development leader, will present the society’s latest report that offers unprecedented thought leadership into how healthcare organizations should approach healthcare strategy issues in the coming years. It is both goal-oriented and tactical in nature, and offers new insight into how hospitals and health systems should understand, react to, and anticipate broad marketplace trends.

Moving from Traditional to Digital: Member Case Study ( 3:00)
Megan Yore
Chief Communications Officer & Director of Marketing
Lakeland Health

The business case to make the switch from traditional tactics to digitally-focused efforts came about with the heightened interest of our C-suite in our ability to “prove” our success, and thus drive additional investment in marketing and further increase return on that investment.  Necessary components to measuring the results of our work included launching a new website, adding a customer relationship management (CRM) system, and creating digital advertising programs.  We’ll share the Lakeland Health journey to make the switch in a short time frame.
