Michigan Health & Hospital Association’s (MHA) Data Services develops and provides high-quality services with a goal of increasing our clients’ success and operating effectiveness. One powerful tool developed by MHA for marketers and planners is the Interactive Data System (IDS). The IDS contains reports for market share, patient demographics, outcomes, and utilization that allow users to compare their hospital to competitor hospitals via the Michigan Inpatient Data Base (MIDB) and Michigan Outpatient Data Base (MODB). Data Services is beginning the process of designing the new XMOBD – Expanded Outpatient Data Base – that will be piloted this summer. The XMODB pilot will be designed to analyze and assess the outpatient records received from hospitals that have not previously been incorporated in the MODB because of the ambulatory surgery filter criteria. Development staff have been working diligently to get Data Koala ready for beta release later this year. Interested clients should contact MHA to be considered for the Data Koala User Experience Group.
